Evento eccezionale e quindi doppio post oggi per originalmente!

Mike Burkey, in arte RomitaMan, ha annunciato un’aggiunta “storica” alla sua collezione. E se è storica per lui… 😉

Ha finalmente ottenuto la copertina del numero 50 di Amazing Spider-Man: Spider-Man No more!

Lo ha annunciato nella solita mailing list comicart-l, ma ho pensato che poteva far piacere saperlo anche a chi non la legge.

Ecco come al solito una mia “libera” traduzione del messaggio:

Beh…… Dopo 23 anni di negoziazioni intense sono finalmente riuscito ad aggiungere alla mia collezione la più STORICA e la più ricordata copertina originale di Spider-Man esistente ad oggi!
Ricordo che la rivista Wizard anni fa, fece un sondaggio chiedendo ai lettori quale fosse la loro Top 100 di tutte le copertine… dai tempi di Action Comics fino ad allora… e Amazing Spiderman 50 è stata dichiarata la numero 1!
Naturalmente io e chiunque altro vorremmo possedere piuttosto la copertina di Amazing Spider-Man 1, di Amazing Fantasy 15, Action Comics 1… o Detective Comics 27 se esistessero, ma ad oggi nessuna è comparsa… E probabilmente mai comparirà.
Così per ora… sono felice di aggiungere questa STORICA meraviglia alla mia collezione!
Oh, un punto interessante che John Romita mi ha detto quando ha esaminato la copertina attentamente… Mi ha detto che per disegnare OGNI linea d’azione intorno a Peter Parker e Spidey, (lui le chiama linee di “RADIAZIONE”) ha usato un pennello e non un pennino e quindi ci ha messo molto più tempo a disegnarle… ma sapendo quanto John Romita sia perfezionista… Ha detto che fu molto orgoglioso di questo effetto e come risultò sulla copertina.

Well…….. After 23 years of intense negotiations…..LOL…..I was FINALLY able to add to my collection, the most HISTORIC, and most remembered Spider-Man original Art cover that is known to exist to this date!
I know that Wizard Magazine years ago had a poll asking readers what their top 100 all time GREATEST comic book covers were…and this goes back to Action #1 to present date at the time…..and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #50 topped the list as the #1 favorite comic book cover! Now obviously…
I and everyone else would rather have the Amazing Spider-Man #1 cover…. Amazing Fantasy #15 cover… Action #1 cover…or the Detective #27 original cover if any of these existed…. But all of those originals to this date have never surfaced…… And most likely will never surface.
So for now…I’m happy to add this HISTORIC beauty to my collection!
Oh….1 interesting point John Romita told me when he examined the cover closely….. He said that EVERY action line….outlining Spidey and Peter Parker, (he called these the “RADIATION” LINES) John Said he used a BRUSH and not a PEN to draw all of these outer lines, which apparently took a lot more time to draw…. but knowing how much of a perfectionist John Romita was as an artist….He said he was very proud of this effect and how it looked on this cover.
